Swimming today - it was pretty good because I got to do the crawl with one arm (and one arm on a float). At least we didn't have to sit on the side for the lesson like last week! And we got to go on a double decker bus on the way back to school - I sat on the top deck at the front with Nicole.

I did a setting of ancient Egypt today in theme work - it was based on a story that we read. In maths we did this really hard thing - they gave us the answer to two sums and they gave us four numbers and we had to work out what the sums were, but the hard bit was the last one which didn't have any numbers but it had shapes instead and each shape represented a different number and some of the shapes didn't even have a number that represented them - it was really hard.

We were supposed to email each other today, but my partner who I was supposed to be emailing didn't have a working password. In fact loads of people's passwords didn't work - it was a disaster! (Mine worked though). In literacy we had to describe a setting - I did a deserted island; mine was so good that she read it out to the whole class (I got a team point for it too). I've almost filled up the chart with team points already and it's only the second week.

In maths we had to add pounds and pence sterling using a calculator which was a bit hard.

Today I gave in my homework. We had PE - it was all right, but we didn't get to do all the things we wanted to do because people were being silly. I was the first to get ready and the first to get changed back into my school uniform - I got 2 team points for that. I also got a team point for running about and an other team point in maths (4 team points in one day!)

I wrote a description about a farm house today too (but that was a bit boring). Dad bought a new Mini today - it will be delivered on Wednesday.

Today we did stuff - blah, blah, blah!

We got our homework books today - I've got some maths and some literacy homework to do this weekend. And I was in the special book today (this first special book of the year!) I got in the special book because I've just got into my work straight away after coming back from the summer holidays.

Peek-a-boo; it's me again! You probably guessed that. Today I did maths - it was very complicated; we had to do the fat belly awards; if you said 'here's one number and here's another and you use the <> sign between them' Mr Collier calls them the fat belly awards.

I was a detective today too - I worked out who an object belonged to by what the objects were.

Today I went swimming - I was really excited, but when we got there, we only got to swim for about 30 seconds; all of us that could swim already just sat on the side and the ones who couldn't swim jumped about in the water.

We did ICT today - writing up the characters from yesterday. We did multiplication in maths (multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000) and we had French today too - we played a memory game in French where we had to find the word 'carpet' in a French nursery rhyme.

Today we had a pre-topic assessment about our science topic 'solids and liquids'. I knew a solid that is a solid and a liquid at the same time; cornflour and water is solid when you squeeze it, but if you stir it gently it is a liquid.

In literacy we described two characters called Nouforis and Pere - they were ancient Egyptian characters in Horrible Histories. Pere was one years old and a bit stupid because Nouforis was throwing a stone in the river and Pere tried to copy her but forgot to let go and threw himself in the river!

Tomorrow we are going swimming which is going to be so cool.

Today I did PE - we did throwing and catching. Another thing we did today was answer questions about what our favourite things are; one of the questions was 'what is your favourite smell; I put mint, but some people put diesel!

Today I made a friendship card - what we had to do was make a card that other people can sign to write down why you are a good friend to them. Yesterday Miss took a picture of each of us and this picture was put on the front of the card and under the picture we wrote our name and around the edge we drew a boarder.

In maths we had these rivers with the length in km written in words and the length in miles written in numbers and we had to write the words into numbers and the numbers into words - there were eleven rivers that we had to do!

My 700th blog post! This calls for a celebration! And it was my first day back at school today. I'm in Miss Brazel's class and Mr Collier's class for maths (Miss Atkinson is now Mrs Collier because they got married during the holidays!). Today was all about introducing us to year 4 - we've got a new card for dinners now and everything (it's now a colour coded system).

I got a new reading book (level 10) and a new maths book. We've got a new draft book too (most people don't know about it - only the teachers and children; we use it to write up our draft work before we re-write it into our literacy book.

I saw Summer and Molly and Daniel and Suzan and all my other friends today they all had brilliant holidays.
