In theme we're learning about the 1960's. They have moved our desks so that they are in lines, and we have to stand behind our chairs until Miss comes in and tells us to sit down - just like in the 1960's. We weren't allowed to talk, and we had to pretend we were using ink bottles.

Balti and chips today (and rice) with vegetables. Carrot cake and custard for pudding.

Today I did PE; we did Basketball - we were practicing bouncing the ball, but I wanted to try throwing it through the hoop. I don't want to talk about literacy, but we had numeracy (sort of) - we had these little booklets and we were doing some questions out of it; there were questions about money, shapes and numbers.

For lunch I had roast potatoes, beef, cabbage, parsnips (just one - they are too crunchy for me), and gravy and for pudding I had plain sponge and apple pie (there were seconds again).

Today I went to the computer suite; I went on a web site called espresso and I found out about pancake day, and Miss put some questions on the board that we had to answer using the information on the website.

For lunch I had a meat ball, new potatoes, sweetcorn and broccoli and for pudding I had plain sponge with custard - after that I had just custard on its own.

Monday, February 23, 2009

For dinner I had veggie nuggets (I ate two), mash (I didn't eat any), peas (I ate all) and carrots (I ate all). For pudding I had plain sponge with custard (I ate all of that too).

We had numeracy today; we cut shapes in half and drew the other side. It was Erin's birthday today - she gave me some sweets.

In literacy I wrote down all the things I did over the holiday (but I only got as far as Friday). I'm giving up sweets and chocolate for lent, and I'm excited about pancake day!

Today I finished my moon buggy - it was fantastic - it even had a pocket to collect your rocks in. I tried it out by rolling it across my desk, but it fell off and the satallite dish bent a bit.

We had our musical afternoon today as well - I'm glad I didn't get chosen as a dancer though because they had to wear a fish on their heads. The show was really good though.

For lunch I had fish fingers, chips, new potatoes, salad and apple crumble and custard for pudding.

Today we made a moon buggy - we had to cut some doweling for the wheels with a saw. I'm going to put the wheels on mine tomorrow. We had a maths test today - I got all mine right; we even had some times sums!

For lunch I had lasagna, new potatoes, mixed veg and cabbage with the same as yesterday for pudding (apple pie and custard).

Today we had to write something that Captain James Smith wanted us to do. Captain James Smith is a man who writes us letters with questions and things that we have to do (but I think its just Miss really).

Lunch was nice today - turkey, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and gravy and for pudding apple pie and custard.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Today I did the register and for lunch I had sausages, mash (which was disgusting), broccoli and gravy and for pudding I had rice pudding with raisins. We had numeracy today, but I don't think I got a single sum right; Miss told us to do it one way, but I tried to do it a different way and it all went horribly wrong. We had a dart board and we had to find three numbers on it that added up to 50.
For lunch I had spaghetti bolognese, jacket potato, peas and sweetcorn and for pudding I had apricot sponge with custard. Numeracy today - adding next door numbers like 1+2+3. I didn't get the dancing part for the little mermaid song - I was upset but I didn't cry.

Today we learned that if you soak a raw egg in vinegar for three days and then take it out and drop it, it will bounce - but if you drop it from too high it will splat everywhere!

For lunch I had pizza, wedges, beans and salad cream and ginger sponge with custard for pudding.

Thursday, February 05, 2009

Today we did a song called under the sea - we have to leave it because one of the teachers is leaving. The ones that are best at singing it will be doing the song on the stage because Mr Chambers might be putting the stage up again. We had numeracy today - measuring height. We had literacy where we learned why we have rockets and shuttles; the rockets give the shuttle enough force to get it into space.

For lunch I had a sort of pie - lamb pie with jacket potato, beans, cauliflower and for pudding I had apricot crumble with custard.

I wasn't in school for the last few days because it was too snowy. Today we had an astronomer come to visit - he used to be an astronomer, but now he just visits schools; his name was Dave. We went into an astro-dome and there was a huge screen and we watched some videos then it went pitch black and on the ceiling and the sides there were stars and the milky way, and you could see Venus (the brightest planet). He pointed out a famous star as well; I think it was Sirius. I asked him where the big bang started if there was no universe before the big bang.

For lunch I had pasta sauce with new potatoes, carrots and broccoli and for pudding I had plane sponge with custard.
