Today was the last day of term - it was brilliant. We watched Elf and then we made some puppety things. During Elf, Rhys fainted because in the film Elf pricks his finger at the doctors and Rhys always faints at that sort of thing - so he had to go home. He lost his memory last time that happened!
Today it snowed! The whole of my area is white right now. It was snowing when we went up to the church today for our school carol service.

We had our group party as well today - we only played two games though (and I didn't win either of them).

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Today I won £1 million because I played 'Who Wants to be a Mathinaire?' There was a team meeting too today; we just played games though like Santa Says (just like Simon Says, but Christmasy), and a Christmas Quiz. We didn't have time for the friendship chain game.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

This morning I didn't cry when I went to school and then it was assembly. That's how I used to start my blog every day when I was little.

I did a description of St Nicholas from the book 'The Night Before Christmas'. After that it was play time - I played with Summer, Dalton and Jaden.

Monday, December 14, 2009

Mrs McDowall says you can't do two things at once, so right now - while I'm saying my blog to dad, I'm drying myself, so I can't do two things at once!

Anyway, today I got my belt back from Summer - I had a sleep over at Summer's house over the weekend (Summer is my best friend), and I left my belt there and I wore Summer's belt home by accident, so we had a belt swap at school today.

I made a Christmas stocking at school today - it was very red! I did a shape poem too - it was in the shape of a Christmas tree and it was about Christmas.

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Today was the last day of our panto and mom and dad came. It was absolutely brilliant. I was dressed in some very fancy clothes - we thought the beast wasn't coming because he went home ill today, but he came back for the panto in the evening! At the end of it back stage I had a biscuit and a drink - that was brilliant too.

Wednesday, December 09, 2009

We did our panto again today. It went brilliantly again. We had maths again; we were doing time sums like 14 x 3 - it was brilliant and easy.

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

We did our pantomime this afternoon in front of the parents... it went ... brilliantly!

We did maths this morning; we did 2 times tables! It was easy - I'm on my 6 times table.

For lunch I had a tuna, sweetcorn and mayonnaise sandwich.

Monday, December 07, 2009

Today we did our dress rehearsal in front of the whole school. It was brilliant - and better still, we got an early play time! After the play we went for lunch play time - we were a bit early

We had a science test this afternoon to see how much we have learned in the whole term - I knew all the answers; they were simple questions like 'what is friction?' that's easy, its when two surfaces meet together and it makes them slow down.

Saturday, December 05, 2009

Today we did our panto practice - it was good. We didn't do any numeracy but in our panto there's a boy that dresses up as a girl - he has lipstick on and everything!

I gave my card to Mrs McDowall, but I didn't manage to get anyone to sign it. She liked it though.

Thursday, December 03, 2009

It was my turn to open the advent calendar at school today - I got a chocolate! Today I made a Christmas card for Mrs McDowell and the whole class is going to sign it! I'm going to get my friends to help me get everyone to sign it.

We had maths today - we did division and remainders. We practiced our play as well today - its our dress rehearsal on Monday.

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

Today I found out that we MIGHT be going to another school in March! We are partnering with another school in Leeds (but we are partnering with a year 2 class). We had maths today too - we did multiplication and division. I had cheer leading too - we did a dance that we made up ourselves today.

Monday, November 30, 2009

Mrs McDowell put our Christmas tree up today, but daddy won't let me put ours up for a few more weeks - Christmas will almost be over by then!

I got a new reading book today, and we had maths. In maths I had to learn my 6 times table (that's my target).

Thursday, November 26, 2009

I have now been 8 for two days! I'm starting to get used to it. Today I was starting my booklet about Salvador Dali - we learned about Jackson Pollock as well, and we made up a painting in the style of him.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

I am 8 years old (that's a big girl). Soon I'll be a teenager.

Today I went to school and everybody in the whole school sang happy birthday to me. Well, what you do is you go into the dinner hall and when you've finished you tell the teacher it's your birthday and she gets everyone to sing happy birthday to you.

At the end of the day I gave chocolates to the whole class!

We had handwriting class today (that's the easiest class of the day). And I cheated in maths - I don't know my 7 times tables so I had to! (at the back of our maths books all the times tables are printed so I looked there!) We had division facts as well- I had to work those out by teaching too!

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Today I did things. One of the things I did was sit on a chair (all day) because of my poorly leg. We had a times tables test in maths - I got them all right (it was only 2's, 3's 4's 5's and 10's).

Its my birthday tomorrow and I'm going to bring in some sweeties.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Today I hurt my knee - that was the most exciting but devastating thing that happened to me today. It was lunch time break and I was running to the line with Summer when someone accidentally bumped into me and I tripped over and banged my knee - poor me!

Friday, November 20, 2009

Today it was my class assembly. I got all of my line right, but the 'E' was missed out of 'Environment' because we couldn't find it. We did our Salvador Dali pictures today - I drew a desert with an eye ball and John and Edward's (X Factor) heads in a flower and a darlek drowning in the sea (and short circuiting). It had a shoe with tea coming out of it too.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

I went into school late today because my foot hurt! It started hurting when I got out of the bath, and went all red - I had to go to the doctors but by the time it was time to go, my foot was better, so I went to school anyway, but not until after first break.

We learned about Salvador Dali today; miss asked if we knew anything about Salavador Dali and I put my hand up and then said that one of his paintings is called "Gala looking at Dali in a state of anti-gravitation in his work of pop art yes, yes, pompier in which can be seen the two anguishing figures of Millet's Angelus in a state of atavistic hibernation against a sky which suddenly explodes into a giant Maltese cross just at the heart of Perpignan station toward which the universe starts to contract". Miss said "well he was quite strange".

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I forgot yesterday's blog, so here is a quick summary; practiced assembly, did some reading, did some art in ICT.

Anyway - on with today; we practiced our play some more, we did directions in maths; we had a grid and we had the numbers one to five across the top and letters along the side and we had to make a treasure map and write down directions and then give it to a partner to find the buried treasure!

Monday, November 16, 2009

Today we practice our assembly - Miss has added even more words for me to say. We did some more French today too - we learned our new word of the week but I've forgotten what it is; I'll find out tomorrow.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

We went to see Leeds Christmas lights being switched on tonight. And Daniel had a plan to get rid of Maisey - he was going to fill her tights with air and then she would float away!

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Today I read, and I got a level 8 book! Lucky me! I practiced my lines for our class assembly and the stage went up today. We had a 1 minutes silence at 11 o'clock which I'll tell you about later in the blog, but first here's a picture of a bunny rabbit...

Anyway, back to my blog. I changed to level 8 because yesterday my teacher said if I finish the book I'm on, and I can up a level, so I just finished it. I practiced my lines at break time this afternoon and I decided to add some words; miss said it was okay.

We had 1 minute silence at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month - we started when Miss was in the middle of saying something and she never got to finish, so we will never know what she was about to say - NEVER!!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Today we were given our parts for next week's class assembly! We're doing it on Wednesday of next week, and it's about saving the environment.

Today miss said that I'm going to move up to level 8 for my reading.

Monday, November 09, 2009

Today we learned about friction; friction is when two surfaces meet together. We had three slopes; one was carpet, one was cardboard and the other was vinyl and we tested which one had the most friction and which had the least by pushing a toy car down each one and seeing how far it went. Carpet had the most friction (I guessed that).

We learned about Pablo Picasso today too;
  1. When Picasso fell in love, his paintings were happy - this is called his Rose Period
  2. When his friend died, he using a lot of blue in his paintings - this is called his Blue Period
  3. He died in 1973 (when daddy was 4) - he was 93
  4. His father was an art teacher and he wanted his son to be a great artist
  5. He is most famous for his Cubism paintings

Friday, November 06, 2009

Today I did a collage of The Scream - I got very messy! Ours was the best! We had two templates; one of the head and one of the body, and we had to draw around the templates onto some felt and cut the felt out, and then we stuck them on the canvas. We put tissue paper, felt and wool on it and made them a bit wiggly.

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Today, well, first playtime I had to go upstairs to reception and do some dancing (I had to practice my cheer leading dance). I was the first person to remember. We're getting quite good at the dance now.

Number 2 thing - lunch time play I had to set some time pastels and put newspaper on tables so I missed lunch time play and I was late up for lunch.

Number 3 thing - nothing, because we don't get afternoon play on Thursdays!

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

Yesterday I did a piece of work and today it went up on the big board because Miss photocopied it and put it on there; it was some notes about kangaroos and we had to make them into proper sentences.

I'm taking the register back to the office for the whole term now! From yesterday until the end of term; I go with Terri. In maths I did adding - I'm going to do a test tomorrow or Friday in maths.

Now I go to Cheer Leading - I've been doing it for a few weeks now and we are learning a dance routine.

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

Today we got our new theme for Creative Curriculum - it's all about an artist called Edvard Munch (he is the one that painted The Scream). We found out loads of information about him like;
  1. He is from Norway
  2. The Scream is his most famous painting
  3. He was 80 when he died
  4. His older sister died in 1877
  5. His father was a doctor
  6. They moved to Oslo when he was small and he later lived in Paris and Berlin
We learned about kangaroos as well.
Today was our first day back at school. We learned our key words in French because this term we are doing French! I learned to say Bonjour and Salut. We did a pre-topic assessment about Forces like push and pull, twist and turn and magnetism. We learned about Newton too and used a spring thing to measure the force of things in Newtons.

Alix was my friend today (at last). Fantastic!

We've started learning the songs for our Christmas play. There are two songs from beauty and the beast. We're not allowed to have any of the main roles until we're in year 6 - so we just have to sing for the next two years!

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Parent's evening today! It was exactly the same as always - yes, you guessed it, I was the best little girl in the world! We did our post-topic assessment today; we had to write all we remembered about our weather topic; I wrote more than anyone else! I wrote about how to meet a witch too which was basically;
  1. Dress up as a witch
  2. Get a wand (it doesn't have to be magic)
  3. Get a spell book
  4. Get two black cats
  5. Then you should be ready to meet a witch!

I forgot to type up yesterday's blog, so here we go...

Today I went to cheer leading! It was superb. We learned a dance routine and we might be entering a cheer leading competition. We did maths today - I got a new target; I got the new target because I passed my test of the four times table. My new target is 3 division factors.

We had our team meeting today too; we did apple bobbing, a spider hunt and pin the eye on the monster.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Today was the Halloween disco! I went dressed as a witch. Summer was a skeleton. We learner about the water cycle too today; first the water is in the seas, then it gets heated up by the sun and turns into water vapour (or gas). The water vapour makes clouds, and as the clouds get cooler, it starts to rain. The rain flows into rivers, and the rivers flow into the sea and it starts all over again!

The disco was brilliant! It started at 6pm, and at first I couldn't find Summer, but she was waiting for me. We had a bit of a dance (they played Thriller) and then Summer said 'should we go for a drink' and I said 'yes - why not'. So we went to buy a drink and I was feeling a bit generous, so I bought both of them. They were 40p each. Then we had a bit more of a dance, then Summer said she was feeling a bit peckish, so we got a packet of crisps each, but we bought our own this time. And just before it was time to go home, I bought a hot dog too (but Summer didn't fancy them). I lost my broomstick because a year 6 had the same broomstick as me, so I searched and searched and found it under the bench.

Monday, October 19, 2009

We did loads of work today! We did maths; we're doing measuring - first we were guessing the length of things and then we had to measure them. We had to do a very short assessment in science about what we have learned (it was just at the end of the lesson for those that had already finished their work).

Alix was my friend all day today! Amazing!

Thursday, October 15, 2009

This is my first blog of the week! I've been reading 'The Runaway Troll' with dad this week because it is due back at the library on Saturday and we still have 200 pages to read!

I made some fairy wings and they have been put up on the display board. I read two reading books in one day this week too! (I'm nearly on level 8).

I lost a football match too this week - it wasn't fair; they had all the good players on the other team and all the rubbish ones on my team (except for me and Summer).

Anyway I better get back to The Runaway Troll. Bye!

Friday, October 09, 2009

Yesterday, on the way to harvest festival, I had a problem - I brought a tin of corned beef for the harvest festival, and I was carrying it in my coat pocket, but when I tried to get it out, it got stuck! Four people tried to held me, Daniel even tried to help by pushing his bottom into me coat pocket! Eventually Miss managed to get it out!

Today I did maths and I did some butterfly wings (but not in maths). Alix, me, Maisey, Olivia, Charlie and Amy were all singing Telly Tubby songs, In the Night Garden songs and bits out of Grandpa in my Pocket!

Thursday, October 08, 2009

Today I went to the church because it was the Harvest Festival. We sang a song and it went like this:
Cabbages and greens,
Broccoli and beans,
Cauliflower and roasted potatoes,
Taste so good to me...
...and so on
I knew the words, but no one else seemed to!
I finished my picture of a fairy too!

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

Today I did handwriting. Also I had to do maths. In maths I had some shapes in my work book 3 in each line I had to find the odd one out e.g.

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Today I did ICT. In ICT I... ...well I didn't do it for very long all I did was print something. This week it is display week and our display was about Howard Johnson - he is an American artist - this is one of his pictures:

I did maths today too. In maths we went onto the computer suite, but our computer was a bit of a drama queen today! We had to type the names of things (it was very numeracy-ish), but when we typed on our computer, the bit we had to type in disappeared completely!

Monday, October 05, 2009

Today I did something for display week because it's display week this week. I did a list poem on the computer and it was quite good (but I don't think it will go up). I changed to a different set of reading books today, and they are much more enjoyable.

Friday, October 02, 2009

Today I got my maths homework back and I did my literacy spelling test - I got 9 out of 10. I finished my hurricane poster off, and my flooding poster went up on the wall today too (with Summer's of course).

Today we were going up for lunch and everyone was making so much noise and pushing that one of the year three's pushed another year three who has got a broken arm into the wall! So we all got told off and told that we weren't aloud to go outside the next playtime, but because I'm so good, I got to go out and play! Lucky me.

Another naughty thing that happened today - Ethan is leaving school on Monday, and there was a card for him; most people put 'good luck' and things like that, but Harry put 'still your mate even though you kicked my football over' and the drew a sad face too! How naughty!

Thursday, October 01, 2009

Today there was a fire alarm in numeracy! We all had to go outside into the big playground. Now that I'm in year 3, we get to play in the big playground (although I played in the small one today).

I did a hurricane poster today. We also heard that Ethan is leaving on Monday - he's going to Cobden Primary school.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Today I didn't do PE unfortunately because we didn't have enough time. So we did handwriting instead. I did a bit better in today's maths test.

Some special guests came into assembly this morning, but they weren't that special. They gave some certificates to the year sixes for road safety.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Today I did maths. In maths I did adding but I had to explain how I did it. Later I did a plan of when the tornado happened in The Wizard of Oz. I did PE today. In PE we did football I scored a goal. I did ICT too. In ICT I had to make some sentences better by adding other words and punctuation.

After school I thought that mom was going to come to pick me up, so I waited and waited and then I told the teacher that I should ask Koosh if I should be there today and Koosh said I wasn't coming today, so I had to go to the office and wait with Mrs Kennedy. Mrs Kennedy rang mom, but couldn't get through, so she rang dad, but he said that it was a Koosh day after all that! So I went to Koosh.

Monday, September 28, 2009

Today I had maths. In maths I was doing some adding and take aways - I also did my Christmas cards (not in maths though) - its ages until Christmas - why are we doing Christmas cards? We watched the rest of The Wizard of Oz today as well.

At playtime today I ran around - that's all I do now!

Friday, September 25, 2009

Today was voting day for our team captains! I voted for Georgia. All the candidates gave a presentation and we had to choose who who wanted in a private vote. There will be a boy and a girl and a vice team captain boy and vice girl too. I'm in green team.

We finished off our posters today - Miss Robinson loved my poster.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Today I had maths - we played a game on the interactive white board; we had to pop the balloons on the screen that had the even numbers in them so that all that was left was the odd numbers. I made a poster about global warming too - it had a car, a factory, a picture of England, a cloud and the sun, and a penguin saying 'help me please'.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Today I had a boring assessment to do - we had to make up a character from The Wizard of Oz, I made up a really good character in 20 minutes, but Miss said it wasn't enough, so I had to do some more but I didn't know what to write, so I just sat there thinking for another 20 minutes!

We had maths today - we played some games on the interactive whiteboard - they were good. Then we had to get a partner and give each other times table questions.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Today I did a test in maths, but I did rubbishly at it! I was quite upset about it. I wrote something about the playground too - it was descriptive writing about the weather and things like that. We did our shadow experiment today, but only for two hours and then it clouded over. We put our rain gauge out too.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Today I was good at maths because we were doing our two and three times tables. We were doing times and divide and although I got a couple of the questions wrong, I did quite well (I did better than everyone else anyway).

We are doing a shadow investigation if its sunny tomorrow - it's not very exciting, we're just putting a stick outside and measuring how long the shadow is each hour.

Friday, September 18, 2009

Today I was in the special book with Summer because of our flooding device that we designed yesterday; we had to go to the front in assembly - and it's a new special book. I got a team point too for my maths homework; Miss wrote that it was fantastic!

We watched The Wizard of Oz today (not all of it). We've been talking about adjectives, and Miss said there were lots of adjectives in The Wizard of Oz.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Today I did maths. In maths I did adding; we had to draw a number line for each question - it was a bit silly because I could do the questions in my head without the number line, but the teacher said the exercises was called 'using a number line' so we had to. I reached my target of 8 questions and I even did another 4 questions - all the questions in the book.

Miss asked us today if we wanted to join the cheer leading club, and I put my hand up - I might start next term. Some of the boys put their hand up too!

Our new theme is extreme weather and today we were talking about flooding. Miss said that we create our own device for stopping floods - mine was like a snake; when it starts flooding, it comes out of the earth and it pumps the excess water up. It had a camera too so that it knows how much water it needs to move - and the water goes through the snakes body and is used to power cars which run on water to reduce pollution.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

No blog yesterday - daddy was away.

In assembly today, we usually have orchestra music, but today she put 'Bob the Builder' on! We all sang along - even the year 6's. She was pretending to be a builder, and at the end she said she didn't want to be a builder because she had to send all the people down to their classes, and builders can't do that, but teachers, or deputy heads (which she is) can.

We had numeracy today (thousands again - I'm a bit bored of thousands). We had literacy as well; we had to think of an old spooky house and we had to describe it - I was scared of what I wrote myself!

Monday, September 14, 2009

I gave in my homework today; it was quite easy to be honest. And I got a new reading book. I did science today; we were doing about light sources (again) - most of the class though that the moon was a light source - I thought 'they are just dumb!'. We had to say how you can see objects; the light comes of the light source, hits the object and is reflected back to your eye and that's how you see things. Also, we learned about adjectives (also known as describing words); we had a book and it had some sentences in, but some of the words were missing and we had to choose which adjectives fit in the spaces.

Friday, September 11, 2009

Today I got some new homework. I got a big, big book for maths homework and a normal book for spellings (or literacy because we won't just do spellings). My maths book is brilliant - it's got a banana on the cover and all sorts of games inside like dot-to-dot. I showed my Ghana report to the teacher today - she said it was interesting.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Today there was no last play! Impossible! We had to do work instead - we had to do literacy and PHSCE - it was so unfair! In PHSCE we had to draw pictures of religious things like the bible and rosary beads and the Muslim carpet with the compass on it.

Mathew and Layton were eating berries down at the bottom of the play ground today - they got into big trouble; they had to go and see Mrs Giles!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Today in maths I did more and less and ordering numbers (and other things). I finished off my post card and all I need to do now is the sky and the sea. We had literacy today too, but I can't remember what we did.

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Today I was a brain box again! In maths, because of that little mistake yesterday, I had to do harder work! We did ICT and PE today too. We practiced our football skills, but it was really hot outside, and we hardly did any of the lesson because we were too busy getting drinks.

Monday, September 07, 2009

Today was my first day in year three. I brought in a fan from my trip to Ghana to show my class - I also brought a report about Ghana, but today we didn't have time to show it. We sat down in class and did registration, and then we had to move classes to do our numeracy - I moved to Mrs Braselles group. I'm in the square's group; we did some work about hundreds, tens and units, but I did thousands by mistake, because Mrs Braselle said 'write down in your books 2, 3, 4 and 5, we were supposed to put them down the page, but I did them across the page and so it looked like 2345, and I said that it was 2000 + 300 + 40 + 5, and when I had finished I realised that I should have written the numbers down the page, so I put my hand up and the teacher saw what I did, and she said that she needs to give me harder work to do.

We did science today too, our topic is extreme weather like hurricanes and tornadoes, and we were learning about light, and we did some work on the computer and I chose Summer to work with me.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

(From Monday 20th July).

Today it was toy day. I brought in my build-a-bear. We played all day and I did the book shelves with Alix. We had an assembly with the year sixes who are leaving.

Friday, July 17, 2009

In assembly (which we didn't have), we had another special assembly because the year 6's are leaving. The strangest boy in the school is leaving! He brought his pet snake in - it was called Monty; his other snake is called Fluffy but he is too vicious to bring in to school. They played Deal Or No Deal but it was a bit weired. They did The Apprentice too and everyone got fired in the end (because they did some dancing and it was rubbish).

I finished off a piece of art today and Mr Bradley really liked it (but he didn't give me a team point - naughty Mr Bradley).

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Today we did a puppet show. It was rubbish - absolutely rubbish. Alix forgot her lines (even though she had them written down on a piece of paper in her hand!) I was good at acting in it - I did most of it because I was Goldilocks - Baby Bear was weired - he had transformers on his t-shirt.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Today I had numeracy (I finished them all in a second), and I finished my puppet - I'm cutting it out next (probably tomorrow).

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Today I didn't do much. I did some reading and started to make a puppet because we're doing a puppet show. We had numeracy as well (although we're not supposed to do it on Tuesdays), because we don't usually do numeracy on a Tuesday, Mr Bradley said we only needed to do a bit on the computer, and then we were going to do some art things on the computer, but my computer didn't work on the art program, and someone was using Alix's computer so we had to work together. So we had to do numeracy games.

Monday, July 13, 2009

Today it was sports day. I came second in the running race, and my mommy did the mommy's race. She did well at first, but then her shoes started to fall of, so in the end she was last (nearly). My daddy didn't do the dad's race. He's a rubbish daddy! (Yes! I got him to type that he is a rubbish daddy!) We got 133 points in our team, but that wasn't enough to get us in the top three. Mr Bradley came first in the teacher's race. Joshua wanted the moms to do a pram race!

We're designing a poster for people to go to Mexico, and when I finished mine, it was so good that Mr Bradley wanted to go to Mexico.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Today at lunch time play-time I didn't play in the playground, but I played outside! Can you guess where I played? ...

...In Miss Nicholson's play area outside - it was because Ellie had a broken arm, so she couldn't play in the playground because people would bump her, so she chose me to play with her in Miss Nicholson's play area. On Monday I'm going to sit next to her at lunch time in the library.

Thursday, July 09, 2009

Today - just before I was going to have my bath, I got a survey and it was from the government. I think I got it because I passed my exam! They want me to write down everything that I do in each half hour of a whole day. I have to do one school day (tomorrow I think) and one weekend day (Sunday). I'm very proud of myself getting it because it said on the computer that I'm one of a few people that got it!

In numeracy we did halves and quarters and three quarters (I understand them now).

Wednesday, July 08, 2009

We had PE today - we were practicing for sports day and guess what - I won every single race! So it was a bit boring - but fun at the same time. I did numeracy; I was supposed to do some quartering, and then some three quarters, but I didn't really understand it.

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

Today I painted my mask, but the worst thing about it was - I didn't use the design I did yesterday; I did a new one - I had to draw exactly the same thing on a bigger piece of paper. My mask was the best though - every one was talking about even at home time and we made the masks in the morning!

Mr Bradley wasn't very jolly today - because of Joshua; the worst boy in the class! Well, there aren't any girls worse than him, so he's the worst person actually. I'm not sure what he did but he made Mr Bradley very cross.

By the way - do you like my new blog design?

Monday, July 06, 2009

Today I designed a Mexican mask. Our new teacher Mr Bradly; not our year 3 teacher, said we were doing it. He said we should do a simple design but I thought - no way I'm going to do it simple, so I did a really complicated design! I was supposed to do big dots all squished together, but instead I did tiny dots (loads of them), and then I did lots of other different shapes, but then I got board, so I did some big shapes - and Mr Bradly said 'that's brilliant - absolutely brilliant Nadia', but then we had to paint it and that took ages!

Friday, July 03, 2009

Today was Mrs Hutchings last day before she leaves to have a baby! She had loads of presents - about 132! I got her some chocolates and a card I made on the computer which said 'I hope your baby is a happy baby'.

Alix got on my nerves again today - we were having Theme, and we had to count in Spanish to 10 and write down the words. We had to draw pictures of musical instruments and if the Spanish word was one (uno), then you would draw one instrument, if it was ten (diez) you would draw 10 instruments. But Alix couldn't draw the instruments and she asked me to do it, but I said no but I didn't say why (the reason was that she was supposed to do her own work - I know it would be helpful if I did it for her, but it wouldn't be right), be she told me off because I didn't do them for her.

We had a party today! It was brilliant; I didn't win anything, and we only did three games, but it was brilliant!

Thursday, July 02, 2009

Today the teachers dressed as babies for Mrs Hutchings because she is having a baby and all of the teachers who were dressed up as babies cried. I made a poster today with Alix, Fay and Harry - it was a poster about Tacuaro - it had lots of information on it, but no pictures because we thought we should do the pictures at the end and there wasn't enough time.

And I moved on to level 7 in reading - yes, yes, yes!

Wednesday, July 01, 2009

We found out which class we're going to today - my new teacher is going to be Miss McDowell. We will be doing some new lessons in our new class; geography! We're the fist people to do it in our school.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Today we did a mini Olympics called Spirit Alive. I was in the China team - I'll tell you where the China team came at the end of the blog!

We did lots and lots of different sports. First we went in and did all the usual things like hang my bag on my peg and then we had registration. Next we went up to the hall and all sat down with all our different sports kits on - we all had different coloured sports kits depending on which team we were in - I had red and white (for china), and another team had red and yellow (that's why we couldn't have red and yellow even though China's flag is red and yellow).

Miss Giles said that they will call out the different countries and then play the national anthem for those countries and all the people from that country team had to stand up. We had a flag for each country and I had to hold the China flag and wave it during the football and the hockey. Then we went out and did our games - first it was running races - I came first out of all the key stage ones. Then it was hurdles but key stage 1 weren't aloud to take part. Then we had throwing - I got 10 points! Then we went inside to have a drink of orange or raspberry juice and a biscuit, and then we went up to the hall again to do dancing. China (my team) had to dance against the USA, and we won - all the music was Micheal Jackson. Key Stage 1 danced to 'ABC' and Key Stage 2 danced to 'Can You Feel It'. Our points were 9, 9, 9, 7, 8, 7. Then we did bowling in the corridor, and then went for a little play outside.

It started to rain a bit, so we had to go under the shelter, then we joined the rest of our teams and then we played some more sports. After lunch we did hockey and football - I got one goal in hockey and in the next round, I scored another goal. In football I scored two goals and in the next round I scored another goal. Miss told us secretly how many points we had, but none of the other teams knew. I'm not going to tell you the points until the end of the blog though.

We all went into the hall again in our teams so that each team was sitting together. I thought we were going to come third or second. One of the teachers was late, so we had to wait for him to arrive and while we were waiting we sang 'I say spirit - you say alive - Spirit Alive - It's the best day ever!' and if you watched Britain's Got Talent this year and you saw DJ Talent, you'll know what tune it was to. Then Miss Giles read out the who came 10th, who came 9th and so on and guess where we came?......

.....FIRST! With 558 points! I got a gold medal (with the rest of my team). Brilliant!

Monday, June 29, 2009

Today I got in trouble by Alix again (about 500 times), but she told me not to cry because she didn't want to get into trouble. We're going to make a poster to do with Tocuaro, and we had a sheet and we had to do some little information boxes (but they weren't supposed to make sense), and Alix wanted to be my partner, and she wrote 'Nadia and Alix' on the sheet and I tried to rub it out but I couldn't, but I managed to hide it from Miss, and Miss told us to put it in the paper bin anyway!

Friday, June 26, 2009

Today Micheal Jackson died. It was devastating. I was thinking about it all day - it made me really upset.

I did get my school report today - it was good (I got all A's for my attainment and mostly A's and a few B's for my effort). We had PE today; we did different activities like batting balls and skipping.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Today I had singing - we are learning to sing a robot song. I wrote a report about a village in Mexico called Tucuaro. There are only three shops in Tucuaro, and 600 people, and a pink church. The shops only sell things that people need, and if they need to get other things, they have to go to Patzcuaro. There is a lake near by too (Lake Patzcuaro) where they can go to catch fish. In the lake, there are these really tiny fish (I can't remember what the type of fish is). They also hold a fish festival each year where someone wears a fish on their head and some girls wave a big net at him. Tucuaro is famous for its masks - they make traditional masks and a girl called Angelica paints them using bright colours.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Today I had assembly; it was a class assembly today - the play today was Noah's Ark and one of the naughtiest boys in the class played God. I knew one of the songs in the play.

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Today I had a rubbish day! Alex (one of my ex-friends) said I was smelly. She pushed me off the tyres and I really fell over and hurt myself - I surprised that Suzan is still her friend (maybe she's a secret agent working for Alex). It was a perfectly rubbish day.

We had RE today - we were making up rules of our own, one of mine was 'help animals if they are suffocating'. We did numeracy as well - we had to draw a block chart on the computer and collect information about our favourite seaside activities.

Monday, June 22, 2009

Miss Giles in assembly was a grumpy Miss Giles today - she said the year 3, 4, 5 and 6 toilets were disgraceful - there is wee all over the floor and the cleaners said they don't want to clean our dirty mess up because it is so bad. But because I'm in year 2, and it was only the boys toilet, I was in the clear! The other thing that Miss Giles was cross about was that some year 3's in the school have planted some sun flowers and someone at the weekend pulled them out! She wasn't a happy bunny.

I sang the national anthem today.

Friday, June 19, 2009

In two weeks time, we are going to do a mini-Olympic games in our school! Because in the real Olympic games there are lots of different countries, all the school was divided into different groups, and we had a teacher in charge of our group and there were children from all the different years in our group, and our group was the China group! We are going to be doing running, javelin, dancing and other sports.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Today we did numeracy (dividing) and literacy (big writing - writing a fiction of non fiction book; we were writing about a book called 'Winnie at the Sea Side' Winnie is a witch) and that's really it! I did play 'foreign secretary' with Daniel though - he's not very good at it.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Today I did my assembly. I had to read a poem about happiness - it was 9 lines long! I remembered it though, but two people got their bits wrong; they were supposed to be playing some instruments; but they didn't do it at the right time, and because they got it wrong, the people that were supposed to do it after them also got it wrong! It was a disaster!

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

I forgot to do my blog yesterday, and I've forgotten what I did at school! Today I got an NSPCC 'full stop' badge. It's green with a smiley face on it called Will Stop. I taught Daniel the 'foreign secretary' game where you have to say 'foreign secretary' in the funniest voice you can, and if anyone laughs their out and you win - simple. Daniel liked it (strange boy)!

In PHSCE we were discussing what moms and dads would buy with money and what children would buy - children would buy bubble gum, sweets and toys whereas parents would use their money to pay tax, car tax and other types of boring stupid things! Someone said that you could get money by winning 'No Deal or No Deal' and I shouted 'It's Deal or No Deal' right in front of the teacher but I didn't get into trouble.

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Today I got battered by some boys from reception class! They were hitting Dominic and Sam and Alex and I went over to see what was going on and they started hitting and punching us! I tried to get out of there playground, but they were chasing us - they even dragged my back in! And I got a Chinese burn in Koosh! I had a red mark for about half an hour!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Today I did a Gillian Ayres picture. Gillian Ayres is a famous artist; she was married to another famous artist, but they divorced. Gillian Ayres lives in London now, but I don't know where she was born. This is one of her pictures - today I painted a picture just like this one. It took a very long time, but Summer had to stay in during last play to finish hers off. Our pictures will be put on the displays (I think).

We were supposed to do our writing targets today, but I didn't get chance to do mine, so I might have to do it during playtime tomorrow!

Tuesday, June 09, 2009

I was the NSPCC helper today! I got to wear a special badge. We had our spelling test today; we have to do sentences with the words in and I wrote 'it was dark and it was very scared' and for the word 'scared' I did jiggedy-jaggedy writing as if he was shaking.

Monday, June 08, 2009

First we did the register - I'm the seventh person in the register. After that I went to assembly - we did singing in assembly; we sang Matthew 22 verses 34-40. After that we went back to class and sat down on the carpet. I can't remember what we did before break, but during break I played doggies (but I wasn't a dog, I was a ten year old little girl). My friends, Summer, Alex, Fay and Maisie played the game with me.

After break, we had numeracy; in numeracy we had to get a shape that was made out of foam (it could be any shape at all), and we had to draw the shape in our books. Then we had to label where the right angles were in the shape we had drawn. Then it was lunch time. I continued the same game that we played during first playtime, and then went in to have my sandwiches; ham and salad wrap with a Baby Bell, a drink and a yogurt, but daddy forgot my spoon today so I had to borrow one from school dinners. I had some raspberries too!

This afternoon, I did my own little school report because soon my mom and dad will get the school report - I said that I could have done better at my spellings. During end playtime we played the same game again!

Friday, June 05, 2009

Today we made some buns. We had to measure out the ingredients. First we put 100g of sugar on the scales, then we put it in a big bowl. Next we added 100g of margarine and 100g of flour and 2 eggs and put them in the bowl too. Then we mixed it all together, and put them in our bun cases to put in the oven. It took about 15 minutes to bake, but we had until the end of the day before we could take them home, so we waited the fifteen minutes, and just before our story time we decorated them. We put smarties and white icing onto it then.
In year 3, I'm going to play a musical instrument! A man came today to tell us about playing an instrument. He played Amarillo on the trumpet, and after the bit that goes 'sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la' we had to go 'oh-ah'. We have to go for a meeting next week to find out about getting started; I'm going to play the flute.

Wednesday, June 03, 2009

I'm going to carry on about the assembly today; well, after the story about Marcus, she told us more about the NSPCC and then she said if we did some numeracy sheets we can win some prizes and then she pointed at me to come to the front with a couple of other people and I had to hold up this massive card about raising money for the NSPCC for the children.

Tomorrow I'll tell you about the gardening we sometimes do at lunch times.

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Well, I'm going to talk about assembly today. On Monday, some special people came from the NSPCC; they told us what they do and told us the story of Cinderella - they used a doll with ragged clothes, but I didn't think the clothes looked too bad' I thought they looked quite fashionable. It was the sort of outfit that Gok would come up with. Then it turned into a beautiful pink dress (which wasn't fashionable at all).

They told us a true story about a boy called Marcus. I'll tell you more about that tomorrow....

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Today I'm going to continue with what I was saying yesterday.

Once we get in the dinning hall, we stand in a queue with our pack lunch boxes and one of the dinner ladies tells us where to sit. If we want two people, four people or something we say 'we want a 2' or 'we want a 4'. After we've finished we have to put our lunch box on the trolley and then we go out to play.

Today in PHSCE I made a pyramid. We are learning about the Jewish religion, and all the Jews used to live in Egypt and were forced to build the pyramids.

Monday, May 18, 2009

Today I thought I would tell you about our lunch times at school. So, we start by playing outside - just doing our normal thing and then one of the teachers tells one of the pupils to hold a card up with a picture and the class who's turn it is to go for lunch. The picture shows whether it is pack lunches or school dinners. After that, we line up at the poles near the shelter in two lines (boys and girls) and then one of the teachers says 'three girls' then three girls go in and then she says 'three boys' and so on. Then we wash our hands and line up again. There are three places where our lunch boxes could be:
  1. Right next to the class rooms
  2. Next to the lift
  3. Up the lift and in the dinner hall.

Tomorrow I'll tell you about what happens when we get in the dinner hall.

Friday, May 15, 2009

Sometimes during register, instead of saying 'yes miss' some people say funny things like 'snip snip, I'm a crab' depending on what our theme is (our theme at the moment is 'under the sea'). Some people (and I should say this is nothing to do with our theme), say 'I'm a pirate' and every time it's Nicole's turn he says 'for the last time - walk the plank'; it makes Miss laugh every time!

A couple of days ago I did the register with my friend Molly. We put the registers where they were supposed to go and after that we had to put some vouchers in a box. we put all the vouchers in the correct slots in the box except for one which we put in the 5 slot by accident. I looking through the slot and I saw that it was just one box with different slots in the top! what's the point of that?
(Thursday's blog)

SATs - both yesterday and today. English yesterday; it went well, and maths today; I think that went better - much better. There were 14 people who did yesterday's and 13 or 14 today.

Because we were doing our test, we got some sweeties when we finished and then went back to class.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Today I did PHSCE (RE) - we learned about religion; well, when I said 'learn', I didn't learn much because I knew it all already. I even told the teacher some things about Hanukkah that she didn't even know!

We did ICT as well; I missed half of it because I did my reading, but I still got all my ICT work finished before anyone else - we had to put the punctuation into a piece of writing.

I was a bit cross today because some people were chosen to do a display, but I wasn't chosen.

Monday, May 11, 2009

I forgot to write my blog on Friday - sorry! We did some SATS practice I think, but I can't remember to be honest.

Today we did some more practice SATS in a big group; we didn't do big cat phonics today (big cat phonics is stupid!) We did literacy today too - we were doing about where we should put commas in sentences. In numeracy I did adding (it was so easy) first we did this sheet from a book - it took me about 10 seconds.

The best bit of the day was science where we went outside and saw all the different habitats and creatures that live in them.

For lunch I had a wrap (smoked salmon and salad).

Saturday, May 09, 2009

(Thusday's blog)
Today I made a little finger puppet and we got given one of the schools best pencils. We were looking at places where things live (habitats) like worms live under the ground. I didn't really do anything apart from that!

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

I found my lunch box today - it must have fallen off the lunch trolley. We did gardening today, but I forgot a bit, so I was a bit late. I brought my wellies into school especially.

We were going to do some practice SATS today, but because some of us have already done it, we had to do some other work - we made a book about out trip to The Deep. The three main activities were:
  1. Seeing the fish
  2. Going in the bubble lift
  3. The 3D movie.
I didn't write my blog last Friday, so here is a brief recap. I saw sharks because I went to The Deep in Hull. We were going to hold a star fish and a crab but we didn't get time - there was a 3D movie, and I was partnered with Dominic but he was so naughty that he had to be partners with Miss, and I had Joshua instead!

We did a workshop and saw some shrimps with a magnifying glass.

Anyway, back to today - I lost my lunchbox! Luckily I lost it after lunch so I didn't go hungry; I'll have to look for it tomorrow.

We had PHSCE today - we were doing about the family. We had theme work too; we wrote about the aquarium.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

This morning all we did was assembly (we did some singing) and make a real life puppet. My sea monster puppet was friendly and purple.

For lunch I had tuna, sweetcorn and mayonnaise sandwich, yogurt and a little cheese.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Today I had numeracy - we did the signs of more than and less then (> and <). Then we wrote a story - I wrote about a magic pebble which sent the holder somewhere else; it sent me to another planet right up in the clouds! They are going to give them to our year three teachers because we are moving to year 3 next term.

For lunch I had tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches and a yogurt and a little cheese (I had an apple as well, but I didn't eat it).

We had PE today too - we played tennis (well not real tennis, we were just practicing).

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Today I designed a puppet - it was a sea monster, but a kind one. We're going to make them on Thursday. We did some practice SATS tests today too; we had to write a riddle - mine was 8 sentences long and it was about a cheetah.

Cheese and cucumber sandwiches for lunch today with cucumber sticks , yogurt and a baby bell.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Today I did numeracy. Me and Summer were sitting next to each other, we were doing sums like 300+70+4. We got all ten done really quickly (in about one minute probably). Then miss put some more on the board, but we did those in another minute and then we did another lot of work that circle group were doing and we finished that quickly too.

For lunch I had cheese and cucumber sandwiches, yogurt and a drink - I didn't have my salad until I got home though.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Today we had two literacy lessons; lesson 1 - we had to make up our own sea monster and write what it was going to be like. Lesson 2 - we wrote the ending of a story (we just had to remember it and write it down). We had numeracy as well today (dividing).

For lunch I had pasta, tuna, sweetcorn and mayonnaise with salad and pineapple pieces, yogurt and apple juice.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Today I did theme; we sorted fish and plants into different columns (under the sea plants not like a sun flower!) We had literacy today - I wrote a whole story today about a sea monster; the story was a page and a bit long.

For lunch I had cheese and salad sandwiches with yogurt and carrot and orange juice.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Today we did numeracy - we did more sharing; I finished it first. It was our day on the tyres today so I played on them at lunch time and play time. We had literacy today, but I've forgotten what we did!

For lunch I had cheese and ham and salad sandwiches, carrot sticks, and drink and a yogurt.

We did PHSCE about beliefs - then we had to do a poster in our books and I did really fancy writing on mine.

Monday, April 20, 2009

It's my first day back at school today!!!!!!! I did numeracy today; we did sharing. We did theme today; when we do a new theme we read a book about the theme - this time we are doing about The Sea Monster. We were making a poster of the sea monster for our display; we had to write about five sentences and fill all the lines up , then we had to draw a picture of the sea monster and write the title - when I showed mine to miss she said it was brilliant!

Today I was on pack lunches! I had chicken and salad sandwiches, some yogurt, some carrot sticks and some orange juice - it was brilliant!

This afternoon we finished our sea monster and then we had theme work! Theme was really good - we were sharing what we know about living things and not living things in the sea. Did you know that a blue ringed octopus could kill 10 men with its poison?

Friday, April 03, 2009

1960's day today. I dressed like this...
Everyone loved my hair. We did a colour an egg competition, but I didn't win - and we had a disco with loads of 60's and 70's music. We played musical statues.
For lunch I had pasta with cheese on it, chips and salad and salad cream and coleslaw and for pudding I had pear crumble with custard.

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Tomorrow I'm going to school dressed in 1960's clothes (flower power). Today I did some numeracy - we were doing exactly the same as yesterday (only different questions).

For lunch I had Lasagna (it wasn't nice, but I ate it), new potatoes that were roasted, mixed veg and cabbage and yogurt for pudding.

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Today I did numeracy; times tables. For lunch I had beef, roast potatoes, cauliflower and green beans and some gravy and I had plain sponge and custard for pudding.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Today I made a book about Noah - I told Miss that he got drunk after sailing in the ark - Miss said 'he did what?' For lunch I had mash (yuck), chicken slices from a packet (yuck) and veg sprinkled all over my mash (yuck). For pudding I had rice pudding (phew) with raisins (double phew).

They banned football today all because of one single person - Josh; I don't know what happened through I has to sit on his own in the dinner hall too - for a whole week.

Monday, March 30, 2009

Today we did two PHSCE lessons and numeracy. In PHSCE 1 we drew a picture of Noah's ark, and in PHSCE 2 we wrote about how we have helped someone - I wrote about when I picked up a coin for an old lady who had dropped her pound in Asda.

For lunch I had bolognase, baked potato, peas and sweetcorn and for pudding I had yogurt.
(Friday's blog)
Today in assembly I had to go to the front because I brought in my dolphin 1 and 2 badges - everyone clapped for me. I had another exam today - it was a reading one; I did very well. We got a biscuit with our milk today instead of fruit.

For lunch I had pizza, chips, salad, coleslaw and salad cream and for pudding I had apple sponge with custard.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Today I did a test. I'm not sure whether I got all the answers right, but I got a chocolate buscuit at end end and that was well good!

For lunch I had balti, baked potato and mixed veg and jelly for pudding.

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Today it was our assembly! In the assembly, I... well first, someone said 'welcome to our class assembly' then Alix said that it was about fashion in the 1960's. Then one of our teachers put on some music and I went up on the stage and walked across - I was wearing a 1960's style dress with some flower bobbles; one on my wrist and the other on the strap of my dress. Next, my other friend walked across, then I did it again, and then he did it again. Summer talked about Neil Armstrong and Jake talked about toys, and someone else talked about school in the 1960's, and after the assembly, Miss took the cane we used in the assembly into another class and made them frightened!

I did a part of a Beetles song today called 'Octapus's Garden'. We did some riddles as well today - making up our own riddles; I did one about chocolate and one about stars.

For lunch I had beef with roast potatoes, beans and something else and rice and gravy and for pudding I had jelly. In school there are tasters that taste the food after dinner and I was there and I wanted seconds - I got some more beef and I wanted more potatoes, and she gave me a new type of potatoes! They were really nice.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Tomorrow we've got our class assembly - but today we went into the ICT suite. I was working with Ellis and he's got a twin, and its his birthday soon, so I helped him make a card for his brother - it was a castle made out of Christmas things with two Santa's for the guards and a whole army of snowmen! In the computer suite we went on sparky island where there are loads of activities.

For lunch I had shepherds pie with horrible mashed potato on top, and hard parsnips and new potatoes with carrots and for pudding I had rice pudding with raisins

Monday, March 23, 2009

Today I brought in my clothes for our class assembly. The assembly is going to be about the 1960's, so I brought in a flower power dress; everybody went 'oh' when they saw it, and Miss gave me two team points because I was the only one to remember to bring it in!

I did numeracy today; we were doing halving and doubling. For lunch I had pasta, wedges, sweetcorn and peas and for pudding I had plain sponge with custard.

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Today I finished my booklet; I did the glossary and index and I finished off the writing. I did a bar chart in numeracy; it was about favourite fruit, but it wasn't very accurate because 18 people chose 'other' s their favourite fruit, and there weren't 18 squares on the paper we used to draw the bar chart!

For lunch I had curry, rice and chips with mixed veg and I had apple pie with custard for pudding.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Today I did my information book about the 1960's; there were sections on music, toys, fashion and school. Tomorrow I'm going to do the pictures, the glossary and the contents page. I had PE today - basket ball (we played piggy in the middle with four people).

For lunch I had beef, Yorkshire pudding, not so small new potatoes, cabbage, parsnip and gravy and for pudding I had apple pie - there was ice cream, but I didn't get any because it had all run out, so I had custard.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Today, I took the register back to the office and I gave my dinner money in. Today we made our mother's day cards; I put a rosette in the middle of mine and in the middle of the rosette I wrote 'super star mom'. At lunch play time, I showed the card for year 5 dinner; every day, someone shows a card which tells people which year should go to lunch at that time and I asked Miss today if I could hold the card up and she said yes - it meant that I had to go in the big playground - the one we aren't usually allowed in!

For lunch I had this potato thing with stew underneath; new potatoes (I had three of them), broccoli and green beans and for pudding I had current sponge with custard.

Today we typed our new targets into the computer at the computer suite, and we're going to do an information book tomorrow about the 1960's, so we thought about what to put in our book.

Monday, March 16, 2009

For lunch I had a giant meat ball (it was too big - I only had a quarter), mash (ugh), peas and carrots, but they were a bit too close to the mash. For pudding I had plain sponge with custard.

We learnt about the Beetles today - we learnt that 'Love Me Do' was their first song, and that they crossed Abbey Road on the cover of one of their albums. We had a maths test as well today (well, it was sort of a test) - I got all the questions right. We learnt about commas as well today.

I was in the special book today; I got in because I always work very well. I got a sticker with a red nose on it and I put it on my nose. It was red nose day today, so we all dressed up in red - I was very red - I would only need red shoes and then I would have been completely red!

We had to put on a show in the hall; I did a funny dance with Summer, Olivia, Molly, Ellie and Maisie. We were doing a ball room dance, but we kept falling over; one boy called Elliot was laughing his socks off!

For lunch I had chips, macaroni cheese with tomatoes on top and coleslaw and salad and for pudding I had something but I can't remember what.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Today we watched a show about how to be a bully (and how to be nice too). We had numeracy today - I had to colour things in and write down if things were litres or millilitres.

For lunch I had soggy tuna and salad with a yogurt for pudding.
Today I asked Suzan if she wants to come to my house for tea - she said yes as long as there aren't any peas.

We filled litre bottles today - we even filled a big grey bin - it was 16 litres!

For lunch I had spaghetti bolognese with baked potato, carrots and for pudding I had ginger sponge with custard.

Saturday, March 07, 2009

This morning I wrote down some things to do with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - describing what its like inside - I used a wide vocabulary and openers and joining words.

For lunch I had tuna pizza, chips, baked beans and tomato ketchup and for pudding I had apple sponge with custard.

Thursday, March 05, 2009

I finished off the picture I started a couple of days ago today.

For lunch I had balti, baked potato, cauliflower and for pudding I had ice-cream which was nice.

I made a danger sign today warning about toxic products (like bleach for example).

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

Today I did printing; I had a piece of foam and a sharp pencil and I carved a flower power design in the foam, painted it and printed onto some paper. I missed my work because I was doing the design - I was supposed to write about one of the characters in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

For lunch I had chicken, roast potatoes, mixed veg and broccoli and chocolate sponge and custard - I had a bread roll too. Scrumptious.

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

Yesterday I forgot to do a blog - I don't remember much, but I do remember that we did about 1960's fashion.

Today was well good! In numeracy I did my times tables; 2, 3, 4 and 5 - I got them all right (even the hard ones). I got all my spellings right too. I got 3 team points today - that's five this week and its only Tuesday!

For lunch I had cottage pie with horrid mash on top - and I had mash with it too, and because I had a big plate, they gave me big portions - more mash! It was a nightmare. I had carrots and parsnips with it (the parsnips were better this time - not so hard). For pudding I had rice pudding with raisins. I only had five minutes to eat dinner!

In the 1960's work we did more about fashion - I had a circle and I drew a design in the theme of flower power. I did loads of flowers together - pink and blue flowers. Miss showed the work to the class and she told us that we shouldn't shout out, but when she showed mine, everyone thought it was good and Josh shouted 'Nadia, yours is the best of the whole lot!'

Monday, March 02, 2009

Today I only had two things for lunch - pork and cauliflower - and no gravy; I was asking the dinner lady for gravy, but she didn't hear and went away to do something else, so I just had to move on to pudding. I had rhubarb with custard.

We did some 1960's games outside in the playground - we had to bounce some balls against a wall and sing a rhyme and we played hop-scotch as well.

In numeracy we had to make shapes - Summer and I finished our triangular based pyramid so quickly that we had time to make a triangular prism.

Thursday, February 26, 2009

In theme we're learning about the 1960's. They have moved our desks so that they are in lines, and we have to stand behind our chairs until Miss comes in and tells us to sit down - just like in the 1960's. We weren't allowed to talk, and we had to pretend we were using ink bottles.

Balti and chips today (and rice) with vegetables. Carrot cake and custard for pudding.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Today I did PE; we did Basketball - we were practicing bouncing the ball, but I wanted to try throwing it through the hoop. I don't want to talk about literacy, but we had numeracy (sort of) - we had these little booklets and we were doing some questions out of it; there were questions about money, shapes and numbers.

For lunch I had roast potatoes, beef, cabbage, parsnips (just one - they are too crunchy for me), and gravy and for pudding I had plain sponge and apple pie (there were seconds again).

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Today I went to the computer suite; I went on a web site called espresso and I found out about pancake day, and Miss put some questions on the board that we had to answer using the information on the website.

For lunch I had a meat ball, new potatoes, sweetcorn and broccoli and for pudding I had plain sponge with custard - after that I had just custard on its own.

Monday, February 23, 2009

For dinner I had veggie nuggets (I ate two), mash (I didn't eat any), peas (I ate all) and carrots (I ate all). For pudding I had plain sponge with custard (I ate all of that too).

We had numeracy today; we cut shapes in half and drew the other side. It was Erin's birthday today - she gave me some sweets.

In literacy I wrote down all the things I did over the holiday (but I only got as far as Friday). I'm giving up sweets and chocolate for lent, and I'm excited about pancake day!

Friday, February 13, 2009

Today I finished my moon buggy - it was fantastic - it even had a pocket to collect your rocks in. I tried it out by rolling it across my desk, but it fell off and the satallite dish bent a bit.

We had our musical afternoon today as well - I'm glad I didn't get chosen as a dancer though because they had to wear a fish on their heads. The show was really good though.

For lunch I had fish fingers, chips, new potatoes, salad and apple crumble and custard for pudding.

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Today we made a moon buggy - we had to cut some doweling for the wheels with a saw. I'm going to put the wheels on mine tomorrow. We had a maths test today - I got all mine right; we even had some times sums!

For lunch I had lasagna, new potatoes, mixed veg and cabbage with the same as yesterday for pudding (apple pie and custard).

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Today we had to write something that Captain James Smith wanted us to do. Captain James Smith is a man who writes us letters with questions and things that we have to do (but I think its just Miss really).

Lunch was nice today - turkey, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and gravy and for pudding apple pie and custard.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Today I did the register and for lunch I had sausages, mash (which was disgusting), broccoli and gravy and for pudding I had rice pudding with raisins. We had numeracy today, but I don't think I got a single sum right; Miss told us to do it one way, but I tried to do it a different way and it all went horribly wrong. We had a dart board and we had to find three numbers on it that added up to 50.
For lunch I had spaghetti bolognese, jacket potato, peas and sweetcorn and for pudding I had apricot sponge with custard. Numeracy today - adding next door numbers like 1+2+3. I didn't get the dancing part for the little mermaid song - I was upset but I didn't cry.

Friday, February 06, 2009

Today we learned that if you soak a raw egg in vinegar for three days and then take it out and drop it, it will bounce - but if you drop it from too high it will splat everywhere!

For lunch I had pizza, wedges, beans and salad cream and ginger sponge with custard for pudding.

Thursday, February 05, 2009

Today we did a song called under the sea - we have to leave it because one of the teachers is leaving. The ones that are best at singing it will be doing the song on the stage because Mr Chambers might be putting the stage up again. We had numeracy today - measuring height. We had literacy where we learned why we have rockets and shuttles; the rockets give the shuttle enough force to get it into space.

For lunch I had a sort of pie - lamb pie with jacket potato, beans, cauliflower and for pudding I had apricot crumble with custard.

Wednesday, February 04, 2009

I wasn't in school for the last few days because it was too snowy. Today we had an astronomer come to visit - he used to be an astronomer, but now he just visits schools; his name was Dave. We went into an astro-dome and there was a huge screen and we watched some videos then it went pitch black and on the ceiling and the sides there were stars and the milky way, and you could see Venus (the brightest planet). He pointed out a famous star as well; I think it was Sirius. I asked him where the big bang started if there was no universe before the big bang.

For lunch I had pasta sauce with new potatoes, carrots and broccoli and for pudding I had plane sponge with custard.

Friday, January 30, 2009

This week was display week. We did lots about space. I made an alien, boot and a invention. For lunch I had beef, cauliflower and for pudding I had rhubarb crumble.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Today I had my pedestrian training. We had to cross a road, but I didn't - I just watched some other people cross the road.

For lunch I had lamb bulti (again) with rice, chips and veg. I had apple pie for pudding.

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

I wasn't in yesterday because it was a training day. Today I did some painting I painted an alien. It was striped all over it. I did some paint splatting I got it all over my self. I drew a pitcher of an invention of the future. It was for the moon if someone tried to live on the moon.I made one that gets nutrients out of the moon. For lunch I had beef, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and for pudding I had apple pie.

Monday, January 26, 2009

Today, for lunch I had veggie nuggets, croquette potatoes and salad with dressing. For pudding I had plain sponge with custard.

I had theme work today - all day! I got a new exercise book for theme. We did about gravity - we were discussing whether it exists or not (we would be floating about if it didn't). Miss told us it was a force.

Saturday, January 24, 2009

Today I did PE in PE we did team games. For lunch I had fish fingers, chips, mixer veg and for pudding I had apple crumble. I think I did numeracy today.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Today for lunch I had lasagna, new potatoes (2), mixed veg and I've forgotten the other thing. For pudding I had flapjack. We did handwriting today and ICT. In ICT we wrote a poem. We had numeracy as well - telling the time on digital clocks.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Today the lunch was good - I had this pasta with cream and cheese sauce which was really cheesy, with peas and diced carrots and also I had roast potatoes, carrots and cauliflower (I think). For pudding I had an absolutely huge chunk of apple pie.

We went searching for rocks today in the playground - we saw smooth ones, and thin ones - there was even some concrete from the old school playground. I still didn't manage to do my Blue Peter thing.
(Tuesday's blog)

Lunch today was disgusting! I had sausage - they were okay. I had salad - it was okay apart from the onions. And I had mash - that was disgusting - it had water in it. I was really hungry after lunch.
I read some of my reading book at school.

Monday, January 19, 2009

Today for lunch I had pasta and sauce and baked potato (sliced) - the other choice today was this green stuff. I had sweetcorn and carrots and for pudding I had plain sponge.

I got a new reading book today (I'm on level 6 now!) and we had numeracy but I didn't do it - we couldn't find our numeracy books.
(Friday's blog) Today for lunch I had ocean pizza - it was like all the other pizzas. I had wedges, salad and carrot cake with custard for pudding.

We had numeracy today - I still haven't had time to do the Blue Peter 50p design yet. We had PE today as well - we had to do space dances.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Today for lunch I had lamb balti, rice, cauliflower and beans and for pudding I had apricot crumble - I had a small baguette as well.

We had numeracy today - we did a number line to help us add big numbers like 160+39. We had PHSCE with the deputy head - we did about the family. And then Miss knocked on the door and Maisie answered it and asked if she wanted a cup of tea!

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Today my work went on display (the story I wrote yesterday). We had numeracy; adding.

For lunch I had seven pieces of chicken, roast potatoes, mixed veg and gravy and for pudding I had yogurt (raspberry) - they had run out of broccoli and chocolate pudding.

Yours tiredly
Little N

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

We learned more about Neil Armstrong today - we had to write a story about a boy going to the moon; in my story, he met an alien, and the boy and the alien played together, but there was a meteorite so they had to hide in a crater. The boy had an aeroplane, but when he got to the moon he ran out of petrol, so he couldn't get back.

Cottage pie, peas and burned parsnip - it was horrid. The cook was serving today; he is nice, but I didn't enjoy the food much. Jelly for pudding - that was alright.
We did about Neil Armstrong today. I had to have this pasta sauce, pasta, new potatoes, sweetcorn and peas and really jammy sponge with custard for lunch.

Friday, January 09, 2009

We had register this morning. I brought in two sheets with some things that I had found out and written about space. The teacher liked it so much that she gave me two team points and read it out to the class.

We had numeracy today - I didn't really understand what we had to do - none of the others understood either.

For lunch I had chips, fish cakes and salad with salad cream. For pudding I had the hardest thing I'e ever tasted - you needed a saw to eat it - it was chocolate sponge with custard.

Thursday, January 08, 2009

For lunch I had yesterday's shepherds pie, croquette potatoes, cabbage, gravy and carrots and for pudding I had....I can't remember.

Miss Gildard the deputy head came in this afternon to teach us, but I hit my head at end playtime and had to go to the office where they put some ice on my head.

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

In school we are going to learn loads about space. There is a competition for who can find out the most about space (but lots of people can get a prize). It's for the whole of year 1 and year 2 (I think) - I'm going to find out about the solar system.

For lunch I had yorkshire pudding, sausages, broccoli, carrots and new potatoes and for pudding I had plain sponge with custard.

We had numeracy today - we were making three digit numbers with 9, 4, 3, 5 and 2 - I made about fifteen. We had literacy as well today - we had to make up a middle of a story about a little boy who wanted his own star.

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

I took my space book in today because we are doing the topic of space in theme work. Everyone liked the picture of the alien in my book, but some people said it would give them nightmares! Miss wrote some things about the moon on the computer and we had to write the missing words down (but it was a bit easy because there were only two missing words. Fay didn't get either of them so she had to copy). I told everyone that I saw a solar eclipse in Ghana.

For pudding I had ginger sponge with custard - for lunch I had some long beans, wedges and cauliflower and cauliflower cheese.

Monday, January 05, 2009

Today it was my first day back at school. There was a new dinner lady, but I don't know her name. I didn't want the other dinner lady to go though. I did some numeracy, some literacy and theme work today.

We sat in a circle this morning and talked about what we got for Christmas. We were supposed to do what we did over the holiday, butwe just did presents instead. We did some work on the whiteboard - Mrs Hutchins has lots of little white boards that we can use.

For lunch I had tuna and pasta with rice (there was mash or rice, and so I had to go for the rice), peas and sweetcorn and for pudding I had yogurt (strawberry).
