Today I didn't do PE unfortunately because we didn't have enough time. So we did handwriting instead. I did a bit better in today's maths test.

Some special guests came into assembly this morning, but they weren't that special. They gave some certificates to the year sixes for road safety.

Today I did maths. In maths I did adding but I had to explain how I did it. Later I did a plan of when the tornado happened in The Wizard of Oz. I did PE today. In PE we did football I scored a goal. I did ICT too. In ICT I had to make some sentences better by adding other words and punctuation.

After school I thought that mom was going to come to pick me up, so I waited and waited and then I told the teacher that I should ask Koosh if I should be there today and Koosh said I wasn't coming today, so I had to go to the office and wait with Mrs Kennedy. Mrs Kennedy rang mom, but couldn't get through, so she rang dad, but he said that it was a Koosh day after all that! So I went to Koosh.

Today I had maths. In maths I was doing some adding and take aways - I also did my Christmas cards (not in maths though) - its ages until Christmas - why are we doing Christmas cards? We watched the rest of The Wizard of Oz today as well.

At playtime today I ran around - that's all I do now!

Today was voting day for our team captains! I voted for Georgia. All the candidates gave a presentation and we had to choose who who wanted in a private vote. There will be a boy and a girl and a vice team captain boy and vice girl too. I'm in green team.

We finished off our posters today - Miss Robinson loved my poster.

Today I had maths - we played a game on the interactive white board; we had to pop the balloons on the screen that had the even numbers in them so that all that was left was the odd numbers. I made a poster about global warming too - it had a car, a factory, a picture of England, a cloud and the sun, and a penguin saying 'help me please'.

Today I had a boring assessment to do - we had to make up a character from The Wizard of Oz, I made up a really good character in 20 minutes, but Miss said it wasn't enough, so I had to do some more but I didn't know what to write, so I just sat there thinking for another 20 minutes!

We had maths today - we played some games on the interactive whiteboard - they were good. Then we had to get a partner and give each other times table questions.

Today I did a test in maths, but I did rubbishly at it! I was quite upset about it. I wrote something about the playground too - it was descriptive writing about the weather and things like that. We did our shadow experiment today, but only for two hours and then it clouded over. We put our rain gauge out too.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Today I was good at maths because we were doing our two and three times tables. We were doing times and divide and although I got a couple of the questions wrong, I did quite well (I did better than everyone else anyway).

We are doing a shadow investigation if its sunny tomorrow - it's not very exciting, we're just putting a stick outside and measuring how long the shadow is each hour.

Today I was in the special book with Summer because of our flooding device that we designed yesterday; we had to go to the front in assembly - and it's a new special book. I got a team point too for my maths homework; Miss wrote that it was fantastic!

We watched The Wizard of Oz today (not all of it). We've been talking about adjectives, and Miss said there were lots of adjectives in The Wizard of Oz.

Today I did maths. In maths I did adding; we had to draw a number line for each question - it was a bit silly because I could do the questions in my head without the number line, but the teacher said the exercises was called 'using a number line' so we had to. I reached my target of 8 questions and I even did another 4 questions - all the questions in the book.

Miss asked us today if we wanted to join the cheer leading club, and I put my hand up - I might start next term. Some of the boys put their hand up too!

Our new theme is extreme weather and today we were talking about flooding. Miss said that we create our own device for stopping floods - mine was like a snake; when it starts flooding, it comes out of the earth and it pumps the excess water up. It had a camera too so that it knows how much water it needs to move - and the water goes through the snakes body and is used to power cars which run on water to reduce pollution.

No blog yesterday - daddy was away.

In assembly today, we usually have orchestra music, but today she put 'Bob the Builder' on! We all sang along - even the year 6's. She was pretending to be a builder, and at the end she said she didn't want to be a builder because she had to send all the people down to their classes, and builders can't do that, but teachers, or deputy heads (which she is) can.

We had numeracy today (thousands again - I'm a bit bored of thousands). We had literacy as well; we had to think of an old spooky house and we had to describe it - I was scared of what I wrote myself!

Monday, September 14, 2009

I gave in my homework today; it was quite easy to be honest. And I got a new reading book. I did science today; we were doing about light sources (again) - most of the class though that the moon was a light source - I thought 'they are just dumb!'. We had to say how you can see objects; the light comes of the light source, hits the object and is reflected back to your eye and that's how you see things. Also, we learned about adjectives (also known as describing words); we had a book and it had some sentences in, but some of the words were missing and we had to choose which adjectives fit in the spaces.

Today I got some new homework. I got a big, big book for maths homework and a normal book for spellings (or literacy because we won't just do spellings). My maths book is brilliant - it's got a banana on the cover and all sorts of games inside like dot-to-dot. I showed my Ghana report to the teacher today - she said it was interesting.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Today there was no last play! Impossible! We had to do work instead - we had to do literacy and PHSCE - it was so unfair! In PHSCE we had to draw pictures of religious things like the bible and rosary beads and the Muslim carpet with the compass on it.

Mathew and Layton were eating berries down at the bottom of the play ground today - they got into big trouble; they had to go and see Mrs Giles!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Today in maths I did more and less and ordering numbers (and other things). I finished off my post card and all I need to do now is the sky and the sea. We had literacy today too, but I can't remember what we did.

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Today I was a brain box again! In maths, because of that little mistake yesterday, I had to do harder work! We did ICT and PE today too. We practiced our football skills, but it was really hot outside, and we hardly did any of the lesson because we were too busy getting drinks.

Today was my first day in year three. I brought in a fan from my trip to Ghana to show my class - I also brought a report about Ghana, but today we didn't have time to show it. We sat down in class and did registration, and then we had to move classes to do our numeracy - I moved to Mrs Braselles group. I'm in the square's group; we did some work about hundreds, tens and units, but I did thousands by mistake, because Mrs Braselle said 'write down in your books 2, 3, 4 and 5, we were supposed to put them down the page, but I did them across the page and so it looked like 2345, and I said that it was 2000 + 300 + 40 + 5, and when I had finished I realised that I should have written the numbers down the page, so I put my hand up and the teacher saw what I did, and she said that she needs to give me harder work to do.

We did science today too, our topic is extreme weather like hurricanes and tornadoes, and we were learning about light, and we did some work on the computer and I chose Summer to work with me.
